2 Corinthians 7:10 - For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. SALVATION: All need the Saviour since we all are descendants from sinful Adam.Jesus came that we 'might' have life. Why, must I say, "Might have life"?Many know Bible vocabulary: Names of the books of the Bible, Names of the Bible characters, Heaven, Hell, Jesus, Devil, Good, Evil, Right, Wrong, Sin, Salvation, Saved, Glory, Hallelujah, and Amen, but just knowing Bible words and their definition only means you have KNOWLEDGE of God just as the devils, so what makes you different from their knowledge?Repentance is word that has disappeared from churches when preaching Salvation.Repentance is NOT a turning from sin but a change in your heart that produces the change in your direction concerning your sin.You can repent of your sinfulness and still go to hell. Judas felt bad for betraying Jesus but he never had 'godly sorrow' that produced repentance which is evident by his decision to hang himself instead of turning to God. Godly sorrow produces a direction that is always directed toward holiness and righteousness and not towards the ways of evil, death, or other sins to cover up your previous sins. Judas preferred killing himself instead of 'facing' the other disciples which shows he prefers the sorrow of this world which produced death.Consequently, there will be many church going people who will die and go to hell while singing hymns and praying and 'hoping' they are saved instead of understanding what is 'godly sorrow' unto repentance that reaches the heart of God.Repentance is not something you can create within yourself as in 'turning over a new leaf' in life or with the idea of just some sinful habit. You can STOP drinking/smoking and still die as an unrepentant sinner. Repentance, like salvation, it is a "GIFT" from God:2 Timothy 2:25 - In meekness instructing those that OPPOSE themselves; => if God <= peradventure will GIVE them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; God looks down at the sinner, even when he prays for salvation, God knows if they are praying because they are only 'IN TROUBLE' or if they are praying because the 'want or desire' God's salvation with 'godly sorrow'. If they do have 'godly' sorrow, God will grant them 'repentance' so that they can acknowledge the truth of their sinfulness and the need for the Saviour - The Lord Jesus Christ.
