"The Lord Will Hold Your Hand" "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not; I will help thee." (Isaiah 41:13)As a young father, I taught our little children not to step off the curb or cross the street without looking both ways. But sometimes they would and when they did, I was right there with their hand firmly in mine. I would keep a watchful eye as we walked through crowded areas that posed a threat or as they nervously walked by a big barking dog. Many was the time when I saw them with a troubled look on their face, I would say, "It's okay, I'm right here holding your hand."Oh, how I miss that little clutch of their tiny hands that held mine with perfect trust. Those days have come and gone now for many of us, and for my friends who have young children, those days will come and go as well.Even these days with grown children now in their mid 40's and 50,'s I often find myself holding their hands while praying before a meal during a family get together and asking the Saviour to do that which I can't do since they no longer live under my roof.As children of God, we can confidently read this promise from our ever-present Father, "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand," Yes, He's right there with us walking hand in hand making sure we look both ways while that nasty devil is lurking on what seems like every road we travel ready to run us down with his truck loaded with filthy tricks. But folks, our Righteous Redeemer is also there with us keeping that watchful eye of His as we travel thru any threatening mob of mayhem that could very well bring us pain and sorrow. Yes, He's right there with us holding those trusting hands of ours as we pray.Friends, no matter what we're facing today or tomorrow, the One who holds our hand is there with us this at every turn on that road and whispers the rest of that sweet promise which will meet all the needs of our troubled hearts saying, "Fear not; I will help thee."
