"WHO DO YOU TRUST?"
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." (Psalm 9:10)
Did you ever notice how companies like to go hog wild with all kinds of advertisements in an attempt to gain our trust in their products? Whether it be an appliance, a vehicle, or a stick of furniture, they want the consumer to feel at ease with their words of reliability.
After the purchase, what's the next thing that takes place? They go for the throat trying to sell us an extended warranty. What happened to RELIABILITY? Well, I don't know what your take on it is, but for me, it just went out the same door I walked in
Trust is not an easy thing to come by these days in which we live, is it? And why is that? Because we have been conditioned over the years to expect the worst from companies and yes, even people who go back on their word or lie through their teeth. We don't trust strangers because we DON'T know them very well. We don't trust friends because we DO know them very well. But often when we learn more about them our trust either goes or grows.
But folks, the more we learn about God, the more we are convinced that He and He alone can be trusted. We can trust whatever He says to be reliable because He has proven Himself. His LAWS for us are UNCHANGEABLE, His LOVE toward us is UNCONDITIONAL, and His LABOR in us is UNMEASUREABLE.
This old world offers us nothing but a bunch of empty promises. But God; God offers us Himself. He's gone to great lengths in giving us a Letter from Heaven bearing His heart, His help, His hopes, and His Home for you and me.
Now, here's the kicker, if we know that reliable One by name, and have trusted Him with our eternal need, then why can't we trust Him for our everyday needs?
Friends, if you have been one that has struggled along these lines of trusting the Lord, then let me freely offer you a guarantee in 12 simple one syllable words, "And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee:"
