Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are IN Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
CONDEMNATION: This verse is in three parts and most overlook its significance.
FIRST PART: Once you are saved or 'in' Christ Jesus, you are no longer 'under' the penalty of condemnation of Hell.
SECOND PART: After you are saved ( In Christ) but if you are walking after the flesh, then you are 'under' the penalty of condemnation of judgment(s) from God. Not the judgement of hell but judgment for whatever sin that has taken root in your life.
THIRD PART: After you are saved ( In Christ ) but you are not walking 'after' the flesh, which means this is a 'conditional' statement, but after the Spirit ( Your Choice), you are not under any condemnation from God. Therefore, you will receive the blessings of heaven for 'walking' in the Spirit.
The above verse shows that you are NOT free from condemnation from God as a 'lost' person or a 'saved' person.
Often we hear that God loves you 'unconditionally' which is partial truth.
God loved you 'unconditionally' to send you his only begotten son. However, if you chose to reject him as your Saviour, then you are under CONDEMNATION and not this non-scriptural phase 'unconditional love' which is usually taught within modern or progressive churches.
Also, as a saved born again Christian, who is walking after the flesh instead of the Spirit, will not experience God's unconditional love but God's condemnation or judgment for sin that goes uncorrected in your Christian walk.
Yes, God loves you since you are his child, but his love will not overlook or be tolerant of sinfulness.
God must condemn sin whether you are saved or lost so don't live 'in sin' as a lost or saved person and then say: GOD LOVES ME UNCONDITIONALLY!!
