The Bible Study –
Our daily lectionary reading for Monday, January 15 is Romans 6:1-23.
The Apostle Paul explains the powerful and saving grace found in Baptism.
This Sacrament, commanded by Christ, is God’s work in us, the Holy Spirit’s action through water and the Word, not our own ‘work’ or accomplishment:
“Do you not know that all of us who have been Baptized into Christ Jesus were Baptized into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by Baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
“For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His.”
Thank God we’re saved and offered Heaven by His grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
