"FAINT NOT" "And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; (Luke 18:1)A woman was talking to her friend about a serious family situation. Her friend responded, “There's only one thing for us to do now, and that is to pray.” The other woman replied with great alarm, “Oh no! Do you really think it has come to that?"Tragically, for many Christians, when problems come knocking, prayer becomes their last resort instead of their first reply. We can get so wrapped up in difficulties, distractions, and disappointments, that we fail to see how tremendously vital prayer is in our Christian lives. Prayer is powerful. Prayer links our nothingness to God’s Omnipotence. Prayer calls upon God to do that which only He can do, and all of us know, God can do anything!Folks, the devil may try to foul up our plans, make fun of our principles, and faint in our praying, but he fears those prayers. And why is that? It's because God answers prayer. As someone said, "The real problem today isn't unanswered prayers, the problem is unoffered prayers." The Bible teaches us in James 4:2, "...ye have not, because ye ask not."Now, as we pray, and I mean really pray with faith and fervency with our focus on God and His Glory, that catches His attention. You and I, with that Born Again Boldness, can draw nigh to the Throne of Grace. And when we do, oh, my, He opens up His Treasure Chest of Bounty and supplies us with His help in our time of need.Friends, let's do what we ought to always do. Let's not faint in prayer, rather, let's be filled with prayer!
