The Epiphany of Our Lord – January 6.
Our readings for this day are Old Testament: Isaiah 60:1-6; Psalm 72; Epistle: Ephesians 3:1-12, and Gospel: Matthew 2:1-12.
During the Church season of Epiphany, we worship Christ, who has given us access to God through Himself.
The early Christian Church celebrated Epiphany, not as Christmas, but for its true Biblical, spiritual significance.
Jesus has manifested, shown Himself, as God and man, to all peoples.
The earliest Christians called Epiphany the ‘Theophany,’ the revelation of God.
As the Gentile Magi came to worship Jesus, they showed that everyone now has access to God.
All people, Jew and Gentile, can come to God’s temple, because Jesus is the new temple: God in human flesh.
Christ came down from Heaven and went to the cross to pay for our sins.
He was raised from the dead by God the Father for our justification.
Jesus co-existed with God the Father from eternity. (John 1:1-5)
I wish you a blessed Epiphany in the name of our Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
