The Light Is LitWhen Alexander encamped before a city, before its capture, he used to set up a light to give notice to those within that if they came to him while that light burned, they would have his mercy. No mercy was extended if they tried to go to him at another time. Such is the mercy and patience of God to sinners. He sets up light after light and waits year after year for us to repent and come to Him. When they have done their worst against Him, He still may come with His heart full of love, and is willing to make a proclamation of grace. God wants all to come to Him, and He gives them that one more chance!2 Peter 3:9 - "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
