"Just Keep Casting"
"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22)
The burdens of life can be like lugging around a 100-pound bag on your shoulders. You might be able to do it for a while on your own, until you hit a flight of stairs, and eventually there are always stairs to navigate in life.
Those who know the Lord and have a relationship with Him find the answers to life's hardships in God's Word. We're told to, "Cast thy burden upon the LORD." Christian, simply give Him all your anxieties, all your frustrations, and that heavy bag filled with whatever that's weighting you down which you've been trying to tote around on your own.
Folks, when you know that the Lord has saved you and has enlisted you as a soldier of the Cross, you can know that whatever hinders you from His service is something He will gladly carry for you.
By all means, don't go AWOL Him! For the Captain of our Salvation knows how small your and my shoulders are. Do you know how big His are? He can easily carry what seems impossible to you and me.
The verse says "Cast;" Now that is a term we use when we go fishing with a line. We cast, or like my oldest Grandson, Rob, used to say when he was about 5 years old, "heave the pole Papa" and let the line fly as far out as it will go. That is exactly how we must deal with our burdens. Don't halfheartedly hand them to the Lord. Cast them upon Him!
Every time you reel them back in, just cast them again and keep on casting until you know by faith that He has them like He promised. For He is always willing and more than capable than you and I to take care of them. Now we are free to go about serving Him unhindered by those burdens.
If Jesus Christ is your righteousness and you are walking with Him, He will not allow the circumstances of life to remove you from His service. He will help you to stay on track and not be moved.
Friends, cast, and if need be, keep on casting. He will gladly carry our burdens so that we can continue on in our Father's Business.
