Two weeks ago I mentioned the Edward L. Ryerson in the Sunday night post where the Arthur M. Anderson was the subject. Well, here’s the Ryerson. The last steam powered and straight decker (meaning not a self unloader) built on the lakes. She is 730 feet and also the fastest bulk freighter, hence her nickname, “Fast Eddie.”
