Mexican drug cartels work strictly in cash, the vast majority being US dollars. They routinely stockpile rooms full of $100 bills. Now, they are in a panic trying to launder US dollars, converting into other currencies and investments because with the switch to government controlled digital dollars it would effectively kill their business. Federal Reserve Bank will recall all paper cash rendering them worthless.
