1 Timothy 5:17 (KJV) - Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.HONOUR: Most Christians often take for granted their pastor just like we take others for granted:We take doctors for granted until we need surgery. We take their time and expense to become doctors for granted. We take policemen for granted until they are protecting you from criminal activities. We take firemen for granted until they run into your fiery house to pull you out. We take the military for granted until it’s your son, daughter, brother, sister, father or mother, who dies while wearing the Uniform. We take our nurses for granted until you are immobile, on the hospital bed, and you are dependent on her smile, and expertise. We take EMT for granted until they show up at your home or accident to pull you out of a car/truck and administer First Aid (keeping you alive) as they transport you to the Hospital. We take teachers for granted as they endure your child (the clown) who is more than a ‘clown’ at school. OF all the above, so much more could be said, but there is a difference between them and your pastor.Pastors are not responsible for your physical needs, but your spiritual needs now and after death. This makes him different and even far more important than the others. All the above, protect or assist you in your physical needs, but not what happens to you after they fail to keep your physical alive. This is why Pastors are so important in your life.
