Not very often, winters were cold in Mobile, rarely brutal, snow or ice was a rare. Snow and ice were normal in northwest Louisiana in the 80s and 90s. When we moved to Shreveport in 1981 every auto parts store around sold tire chains.

I’m old as dirt and still have a set for 15” tires on a pickup and a set for 14” car tires.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 they’re antique now.
