Armageddon is the last great showdown Revelation 16:14-16 " For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew Armageddon It be would hard to believe this has already happened when we consider the magnitude of this scene. The Word of God also gives us the place this will happen in the future: It is that large expanse of land outside of the ancient city of Megiddo. Consider how the major powers of the world will send forth armies that seem to be unnumbered and beyond measure. All the modern weaponry and ingenuity will be there outside the place of so many battles and regime changes. This great battle is also happening in the land of the Bible in the area where Christ atoned for our sin on the cross and rose from the grave. We know that the battle that will ensue will be to no avail for in two more chapters we are told how Christ will split the sky open with the marshalled forces of heaven to reclaim totally, once and forever, the world and rule and reign forever. The Bible is clear that human warfare and power will not win the day, but Jesus and His eternal kingdom will do so. That opportunity of being on the victorious side is available to all who will come to Christ as our Coming eternal Lord and King. --- Dan Nelson
