ONLY LOSERS PLAY CARDS I don't recall any of them ever actually TELLING me to be strong, but they sure showed me. To just stew it all down into one healthy gulp, their life examples taught this: THIS IS A HARD AND UNJUST WORLD, BUT YOU'LL NEVER MAKE THINGS BETTER BY WHINING AND BELLYACHING. BE STRONG AND YOU'LL SURVIVE, AND MAYBE YOU'LL EVEN THRIVE, BUT IF YOU'RE WEAK AND WHINY, SOCIETY WILL CHEW YOU UP, SPIT YOU OUT, AND THEN MOVE RIGHT ON WITHOUT YOU. Did I ever hear them express frustration about politics, prices or paychecks? Sure I did, but their solution was always work harder, save better, plan better, etc. It was never about what SOMEONE ELSE needed to do; it was always about what WE needed to do to improve our lives. I honestly cannot recall any of them playing any sort of victim card . . . not ever. If I brought home a bad grade, it was MY FAULT, not the teacher's or the unfair system. If I got in trouble at school, I'd also be in trouble at home (if they found out!). If they caught me lying or misbehaving, they never said, "We just can't do anything with him" or "I don't know what's gotten into him!" No, they knew very well what had gotten into me, and they knew how to get it out, and they did. No one ever made excuses or blamed others. It was understood that if a man needs or wants a better life, it is HIS RESPONSIBILITY to MAKE it better by becoming a better and stronger person. If he doesn't, he becomes a loser and probably a "victim" who spends his life playing the race card, the sex card, the minority card, the handicap card, the youth card or whatever other cards that might have been dealt to him by the humanistic lords of Laodicea. They're all cards of WEAKNESS for losers who lack the character to be STRONG. They all want to change the world when they can't even change themselves. Do you want a better life? Get in the Book and see what God says about YOU, what YOU are and what YOU need to be. That will change YOUR world by making you a better and stronger person while the world at large speeds right on towards the lake of fire and taking all the weaklings with it. Over thirty times God's word gives the command to be strong. You can obey it, or you can get mopped up while trying to change a world that doesn't even know you exist. "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." (Jsh. 1:8-9)
