Jesus, The Only CornerstoneIsaiah 28:16 (NIV®)So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.”Jesus is the foundation of our faith. Not our local churches, or our denominations, or any earthly leaders—only Jesus. It is through His shed blood that our sins can be forgiven. It is through His shed blood that we are redeemed, justified, and sanctified. It is through Him that we are made holy and set apart to God. It is through Jesus that we can have peace with God. God the Father’s timeless message through the prophet Isaiah is that Jesus is precious, tested, and sure. Jesus is the only foundation for a life of true joy and lasting significance; any other foundation will eventually crumble. The world will offer you many opportunities to place your loyalty elsewhere, but do not allow yourself to be deceived. No other gods by any other names can provide redemption to Almighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Jesus is the only Cornerstone worthy of building upon, so do not settle for anything less.THINK ABOUT ITIt is more culturally acceptable to say, “There are many ways to God. Who’s to say one way is better than another?” But Jesus is the One who said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for providing reconciliation to You, my Creator, through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross—where He was executed for my sin and paid the price for me to inherit all His blessings.
