Daily Devotional - November 4What Must Be Our First Concern In Life?"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercyhas begotten us again to a living hopethrough the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiledand that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you..."1 Peter 1:3-4We're here for a comparatively short time. Thousands of years have gone before us, and there are thousands of years to come. We're here for maybe 80. Some more, some less, but we all have an expiration date. It only makes sense therefore, to be heavenly minded and concerned about how we spend these few years, and the first concern should be to FIND OUT WHAT THE TRUTH IS, because the world is filled with deception.God has given us the Scriptures to reveal to us the truth. People in hell are not there because of sin, they're there because they rejected or had no interest in the Word of God. God has put eternity into our hearts to help keep our minds fixed on this:"He has also set eternity in the human heart;"Ecclesiastes 3:11How then should we live?"Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, BE SOBER, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to youat the revelation of Jesus Christ, as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, 'Be holy, for I am holy.'"1 Peter 1:13-16"Holy" means set apart. If you're a believer, you are set apart for Christ and you represent him in all your doings before the world. Therefore be unreproachable, that the world may see Christ in you and be drawn to him. From:Along Emaus Roadhttp://alongemausrd.blogspot.com/
