Blessings in Marriage & Factors that Prevent God's Blessing“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favor from the Lord.” --- Proverbs 18:22Why you may ask is this so? Why does God give special favor to the man who will marry a woman instead of having children with her and leaving them and her abandoned? The answer is obvious. His marriage will serve to be the cement in society. A working father and supportive wife with the children having a safe shelter is the mainstay of our culture. The man devotes all his energies to protecting his family and working to provide for them.The husband should be the provider and not the wife. There may be rare exceptions but that’s the way it’s supposed to work. When he channels all his energies into his work to support his family, he doesn’t have time to be chasing other women around with the intent of sexual promiscuity.3 events are disrupting this pattern today.One is the man who will not marry but fathers' children without being there for them. The leading group of prisoners in any prison comes from homes with no dad around. Children instead get into trouble because it is hard for Mom who has to work to do double duty. So the children left to themselves will eventually get into trouble and wind up on the wrong side of the law.The second happening is more and more people living together without marriage. This is a sin that Jesus acknowledged to the woman at the well. It also disrupts any loyalty to the man or woman in marriage so that they can leave when they want without any obligation. This disobedience to God’s Word wreaks havoc in the home where this takes place.Finally, Gay marriage distorts the home by trying to replace male or female with another same-sex partner who is a substitute and not the real thing—children who grow up in homes like this or are destined for trouble. But the Supreme Court does not understand this or doesn’t care. Despite it being under the judgment of God, Gay marriage can never replace the real thing and the only true marriage in God’s Word.Let us stand for traditional marriage as we have never done before because it is under attack like never before.
