Therefore, in a contested child custody/visitation case, a non-affirming parent would be deemed unfit to be awarded custody of a minor child.❌This bill will allow the state to punish a parent who does not agree that it is in the best interest of their minor child to socially change their gender and/or to subject the child to experimental medical treatments and hormone therapy. AB 957 will effectively place non-affirmation of transgenderism on the same moral plane as child abuse, substance abuse, and neglect.AB 957 demands that parents adopt the state-sanctioned position regarding gender identity or risk losing custody of their child. This bill essentially permits state-sanctioned kidnapping, and it will devastate our youth and California's families. AB 665 gives mental healthcare providers, including public school counselors, the authority to determine whether a child as young as 12 years old should be placed in a residential shelter without the knowledge or consent of the minor's parent or guardian, even when there is no accusation or evidence of abuse. The CA State Legislature is again attempting to circumvent parental rights to advance their progressive agenda.AB 665 will allow school counselors to place a minor in a facility if, for example, the child claims that his/her parents are not supportive of changing the child's gender identity.
