The Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, The Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and their partner agencies participated in the statewide "Operation Autumn Hope" this past week. Fourteen men were arrested after allegedly chatting with undercover officers posing as 12-15 year old boys and girls, arranging to have sex, and driving to meet them. Several of the men allegedly made arrangements to pay the children for sex, even one as young as twelve years old.
We are proud to have been a part of this statewide anti human trafficking effort coordinated by Attorney General Dave Yost's Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission. Over fifty law enforcement and social services organizations partnered to see 177 Predators arrested. More importantly, 109 potential trafficking victims were linked with services that will hopefully lead them to a better life.
