So often, we give out the gospel to those who maybe don't listen or who just outright shut us down. Learning that they are sinners who are bound for Hell can produce strong reactions. Their worldview or personal belief that they are "a good person" has been challenged. Truth becomes untenable for them. And in the case of Jesus, His existence was untenable for some. If Jesus can forgive His executioners by saying "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do," then we can forgive them too. These light and momentary troubles we experience from unbelievers rebuffing us pales by comparison. Pray for those who persecute you. And remember that these troubles are gaining for you a great, eternal weight of glory.
