This sign is a few miles from my house, on the Snake River. It's very sad to stand near the sign and realize that such horror took place on this very spot. The Bannock Indian War of 1878 was pretty messy, with lots of white farmers killed and their ranches burned to the ground. Paiute (fly-eaters), Bannock and Shoshone Indians.
