Matt. 6: 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is your life not more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you, by worrying, can add one cubit to his stature?
Worry never changed things from getting better or worse. We must accept what God gives us as from His hand or filter through Him to see His will accomplished in life. Pre-occupation with things leads to worry, stress, negativity, and depression if we are not careful.
In the Christian case, worry is senseless since we have the Creator of the universe taking care of us. Evidence of this is by His taking care of the creation continually. He feeds the birds without them having to plant and harvest like humans. It is an insult to give the impression that God cares more for animals and plants than He does His highest creation.
We do that, however, through worry. Worrying will not make things different. Why, it’s as useless as trying to make you taller or shorter or even increase the years of your life that God has in store for you. You can’t change what God has fixed. We must embrace them and be thankful to God. He’s got our back.
If someone pays for a meal, offers to drive, or performs a function for you, we don’t worry because they usually tell us, 'I’ve got it covered.' Heaven, our salvation, and our eventual glorification is covered by God. Can’t we trust God for our daily needs and existence instead of uselessly worrying about them? After all, He’s got it covered.
