Cold has the opposite effect; the object contracts. That universal law continues until God intervenes. Water will contract as it gets colder, but when the temperature falls to 32 ° F., it expands. Why? Because had water continued to contract when it got colder, freezing ice would have, by its weight, fallen to the floor of the ocean. The ocean would have been solid ice at both poles from the bottom to the top. The great currents that ameliorate the temperatures of the world would have been impossible. A person could not live near the center of the earth because the torrid heat would burn him up. Such is a miracle of God. In the field of biology a law states that all cells have a certain number of chromosomes. There are forty-six chromosomes in every cell of the human body. In the miraculous process of mitosis every cell will split down the middle, and there will be forty-six in one and forty-six in the other. This happens universally except, in the miracle of God, in the female ovum where there are twenty-three, and in the male spermatozoon where there are twenty-three. When the male spermatozoon fertilizes the female ovum, the twenty-three chromosomes from the man and the twenty-three chromosomes from the woman combine, and the child, therefore, has forty-six chromosomes in all the cells of his body. The child will inherit characteristics from both the mother and the father. It is a miraculous intervention of Almighty God! We live in a world of miracle.
