Prov. 14:12 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death"
What seems right in our eyes does not matter if it is wrong in God's eyes. People opt out of religion, thinking they don't want to be bothered by God or the church. With the country becoming more unchurched, it is seemingly a reasonable decision. They don't have their kids in church. They don't need to study the Bible. They aren't interested. They have friends that are not in church and aren't religious. They are doing all right, so why do I need it?
Then some believe salvation is a human accomplishment. It is what you do by trying to do your best. They may go to church but are bound by tradition instead of scripture. They feel their brand of religion was good enough for their parents, and they might be satisfied with it. But any religion that does include being born-again through believing in Christ's sacrifice for us is false.
Both paths that seem right are dead wrong. Death is not just physical death. It is being dead spiritually without hope and God. Don't go by what seems right to you but by what God says in His word: "You must be born-again to go to heaven when you die and be a true Christian.
