Prov. 7:21-22 “With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, with her flattering words she seduced him. Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter or a fool to the correction of the stocks.”
The final chapter about sexual temptation offered to a young man can also be in the form of a young woman tempted by a man with sexual drives to be fulfilled. The temptation comes in the form of words that exaggerate and lie about the situation or even the person being tempted.
I wish young people could understand that people will lie to fulfill their sexual desires. They will toss the words ‘I love you’ around to get what they want. Adrian Rogers used to tell how a young woman is told by a young man who wants sexual favors how he loves her. He said, “It’s the same as him saying boy, I sure love oranges, sucks the middle out, throws it down, and stomps it into the ground.” Love is not found in words but in actions. True love waits for marriage for a sexual relationship.
Interestingly, it says the young man goes to the slaughter wounded by illicit sex. It is like an ox that will be killed unknowingly and a person not knowing they will be clamped in chains not knowing they will be locked up. It is a far different picture than what is presented when one is urged to fulfill their lusts. Sexual sin damages people inside. It runs the risk of disease. It is a sin against God so it will carry His judgment on it one way or another. Face reality; sexual sin offers false promises that will destroy your life if you let it. Flee to the Lord and His strength; He will protect you from it.
