Lk 16:26 "between us and you, there is a great gulf fixed so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those pass to us" The deadline is the day we leave this world, and our eternity is fixed. Jesus told the story of the rich man and Lazarus to prove that when we die we will go to heaven or hell. We will either go to paradise to be with the Lord and others, are we will spend eternity in a place of eternal separation and torment from the presence of God. The story of the rich man and Lazarus is illustrative of the fact that there will be no chance to pass from hell to heaven. Neither would one want to leave Heaven to go to Hell. Unbiblical views like purgatory and reincarnation are not found in the Bible. The Lord Jesus is speaking here, the one who said all judgment would be committed to Him. He who holds the key to Hell and death says there will be no chance to go from one place to the other. So we better listen and not dismiss it as a fable or spiritual. The information we get from Hell is from Jesus and He says it is a real place of torment of no opportunity to ever get out. Many live carelessly in this world with no thought of facing eternal judgment. What I am sharing with them is outdated, old-fashioned, and insensible to the modern mind. However, Jesus said it existed, people would be condemned to it without faith in Him (John 3:36). To reject what He says is to reject the greatest message from the greatest person who ever walked the face of the earth. Take advantage of the deadline today. Trust Christ as Saviour, and for believers, may God break your heart for the lost going to this eternal place of torment without salvation.
