You think you live by faith?Try living in a hot foreign land under severe bondage for 400 years with only 2 promise,s of God to hold onto ALL your life, from birth till death, generation after generation.There were levels of slavery in Egypt. Some slaves worked long hours in mud pits while others were skilled carpenters, jewelers, and craftsmen. Regardless of their skill or level, all slaves were watched closely by brutal slave drivers, supervisors whose assignment was to keep the slaves working as fast as possible. Egyptians were driven by hate and were specialists at making a slave's life as miserable as possible.How would you feel if you were in the middle of those 400 years and knew you were never gonna escape, never to be delivered from your fate….Gods promise would happen in your future long after you are dead.….What faith they must,va had!Gods Promise…#1…Sometime in the future you will leave Egypt with great substance.Gods promise #2…God will judge Egypt.He said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.Genesis 15:13-14We know now that God was working during those long 400 hard years, preserving the nation using the Egyptian racism as a barrier against intermarriage and multiplying them. God did hear their groaning and He respected their deep faith…God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them….Exodus 2:24-25And we modern Christians dare to murmur about how bad we have it…. God sure works in mysterious ways.
