GOD HIMSELF SHALL WIPE ALL TEARS FROM OUR EYESRevelation 21:1-3Three things that we should do in this service this morning,we should:1. REMEMBER THE GOODNESS OF GODWhen I reflect on the goodness of God, I think about:a. The salvation that He has promised2 Tim 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,b. The security that He has promisedHeb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.2. REVERENCE THE GREATNESS OF GODWhen I consider the greatness of God, I think about:a. The words of the seraphimsIsa 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.b. The worship of the saintsRev 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.3. REFUSE THE GRIEVING OF GODWhen I think about grieving God, I think about:a. The example that God has givenHeb 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.b. The exhortation that God has givenEph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.1Thes 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.Notice three things that we should do with this verseRev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes...We should:I. RECEIVE THIS VERSEIn this verse we find:A. STRENGTH FOR MY JOURNEYI Kings 19:7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.B. SIGHT FOR MY JORDANExodus 14Ps 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.C. SUBSTANCE FOR MY JOYLuke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. We should:II. RECITE THIS VERSEWhen we recite this verse it will:A. ENCOURAGE OUR HEARTS1 Sam 17:32-3632 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.B. EXEMPLIFY OUR HOPE1 Cor 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.C. EXPLAIN OUR HAPPINESSActs 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.Phil 3:20-2120 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. We should:III. REMEMBER THIS VERSEWe should remember this verse the next time that we are:A. SETTING IN A CLINICB. STANDING IN A CEMETERYC. STRUGGLING IN A CONFLICTRev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes...CONCLUSION:What a wonderful thought to think on that Jesus Christ has prepared a place for the believers for all ages a place that will have nothing there that would cause us tears. No more suffering. No more sorrow. No more sickness. No more sin. That is just about enough to make a Baptist shout.
