For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Prayer:
Father in Heaven,
Thank you for Paul’s letter to Timothy and the many encouragements scattered throughout. You are the giver of strength, courage, power, love, and self-control. These traits don’t come naturally, so I thank you for these great gifts. Lord, when fear starts creeping in, remind me that it is not from you. Help me trust in you and give me boldness and confidence to serve you well. Thank you for giving me your spirit!
