THERE IS NO MORE OFFERING FOR SIN
In Hebrews 10:1-4 PAUL EXPLAINS THAT “UNDER THE LAW” IT WAS NECESSARY TO SACRIFICE BULLS AND GOATS EVERY YEAR “TO PURGE “THEIR CONSCIENCE” FROM SIN”, BUT HE MAKES IT CLEAR THAT “IT IS NOT POSSIBLE” FOR BLOOD FROM BULLS AND GOATS “TO TAKE AWAY SINS”
Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
Hebrews 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more “conscience of sins”.
Hebrews 10:3 But “in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year”.
Hebrews 10:4 For “it is not possible” that the “blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins”.
In Hebrews 10:5-8 PAUL TELLS US THAT WHEN JESUS CAME, JESUS WAS THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE; HIS SHED BLOOD WAS THE LAST OFFERING OR SACRIFICE NECESSARY FOR THE BELIEVER!!!
Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when He cometh into the world, he saith, “Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not”, but a body hast thou prepared Me:
Hebrews 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do thy will, O God.
Hebrews 10:8 Above when He said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
PAUL MAKES IT CLEAR IN THESE VERSES THAT GOD HAD NO PLEASURE IN ANY OFFERING OR SACRIFICE FOR SIN!!!
In Hebrews 10:9-10 PAUL TELL US THAT THE OLD COVENANT IS TAKEN AWAY TO ESTABLISH THE SECOND; AS A RESULT, WE AS BELIEVERS ARE SANCTIFIED BY THE OFFERING OF THE BODY OF JESUS!!!
Hebrews 10:9 Then said He, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second.
Hebrews 10:10 By the which will “we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all”.
Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
In Hebrews 10:12-18 PAUL TELLS US THAT AFTER WE RECEIVE JESUS AS LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS HATH PERFECTED THOSE WHO ARE SANCTIFIED (MADE HOLY OR SET APART); JESUS PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR SINS FOREVER!!!
Hebrews 10:12 But this (JESUS) man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Hebrews 10:13 From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool.
Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering “He (JESUS) hath perfected” for ever them that “are sanctified”.
Hebrews 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that He had said before,
Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
SO WE CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT THE PRICE WAS PAID IN FULL, GOD REQUIRES NO FURTHER PAYMENT FOR SIN, FOR BELIEVERS IN CHRIST JESUS!!!
Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.
THE NEW COVENANT
Hebrews 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
Hebrews 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
Hebrews 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
Hebrews 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with them, He saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Hebrews 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in My covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:
Hebrews 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Hebrews 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
The FIRST Covenant (Old Testament) was between God and man, the SECOND Covenant (New Testament) was between God and Jesus (the Lamb of God).
THE LAW (Ten Commandments) VS. GRACE
Romans 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Romans Chapter 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans Chapter 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to Him (JESUS) who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Galatian 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.
We are NOT Under the Law, But Under GRACE, can I get an Amen?
