The Injustice of Jesus Suffering
Isa. 53:8 He was taken from prison and judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off from the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
A kangaroo court convicted Jesus of blasphemy. Despite the pretense of justice, he was beaten beyond recognition at the Roman justice hall. To satisfy a hostile crowd, Pilate turned Him over to guards to be crucified.
He who should not have died because of His innocence was suddenly cut, believed to be dead and gone. No longer a factor, just a memory of another prophet promising the world and ending up dead. No one was there to defend Him, and He died unjustly but was just viewed as another failed leader of nothing more than someone that got his dreams crushed in one fatal swoop. That’s the typical way the world viewed Jesus' death.
But from heaven and eternity's perspective, it was the greatest thing ever happening in these brief hours on the cross. Isaiah pictures it repeatedly in this chapter. Those who literally placed Him there were the ones He died for. He died to save His people from their sins, Matt. 1:21. He was the ultimate sacrifice once and for all, bearing our sins and offering Himself for us so we will not be condemned for our sins. All this would have been a fantasy (although he prophesied and the apostles reinforced it in a unified message) had Jesus not come forth in glorious victory as our ever-living Lord. God's perspective is greater than man's blind-sighted view of another event of the crucifixion. You see, how you view the crucifixion will determine what you depend on to take you to heaven or dam your soul to Hell when you die. With that in mind, do neglect what was prophesied, fulfilled, and has been proven for the last 20 centuries. Jesus is Saviour; accept Him personally, and he will be yours for all eternity.
