"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." (Psalm 27:14)The reason that many folks do not sense the Lord's leading in their lives is because they are not waiting on the Lord. We like to have things happen on our own timetable, don't we? Often, we are running madly ahead of God and hoping He will catch up to our plans. But that is not how God works. He doesn’t change just because we are fickle, and He never hurries just because we are impatient. Our trials are real, our burdens are heavy, and our discouragement can run deep. But instead of wrapping our thoughts around what the world has, we need to set our eyes upon Jesus Christ and all that He promises us. When we wait on the Lord, He will strengthen our hearts. God is never late, and He is never lacking to perform what He has promised. What will the future bring? "Wait, I say, on the LORD." When will this sorrow end? "Wait, I say, on the LORD." How can I survive this ordeal? "Wait, I say, on the LORD." How should I handle this decision? "Wait, I say, on the LORD."Today's problem may not even pass tomorrow, but the good news is neither will the promises that God has given us. Our hurts may continue, but His help is constant. Our grief may be severe, but O, His grace is sufficient. Friends, God's answer to life's problems echoes through the tunnel of time and from the testimony of millions of satisfied saints who have experienced a renewed strength by waiting on the LORD.
