No, I'm Better Than You ContestRomans 3:30 "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified by his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."If you didn't know how to swim and were in a boat that sunk, what would be your chances of surviving? You might flay around and try to do something to save your life, but eventually, you would drown unless someone rescued you. That is the dilemma we are in today, morally and spiritually. People are dying in their sins and, in many cases drowning in their sins, thinking they are right without a Saviour.Jesus Christ did much more than give us a perfect moral example of how to live. He went to the cross, and God transferred the sin punishment we deserve to Him in some miraculous way. When we trust in Him as Saviour, we are, in turn, being rescued from dying in our sin by accepting Him as a payment for our sin and being saved from our helpless plight.Mankind's greatest religious and moral mistake is to think if we do enough, religious rites can save us, moral comparison, believing in God intellectually, or believing the gospel is nonsense;(if it is, it sure changed a lot of people's lives, proving it is not). Trying to be saved by all these things people use to justify themselves is as useless as a drowning man trying to save himself from a shipwreck. The law has its place: Namely, to show us we are sinners and can't save ourselves. It was never designed to do only what Jesus could do. We are not in a "whose the best person contest" We need to reach out to Jesus and let Him save us or we will drown.--- Dan Nelson
