Preaching in a Graveyard: Not a fun thing to doEzekiel 37:11 "And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So, I answered, “O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again, he said unto me. Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. " God leads Ezekial in the Spirit to a bunch of bones and asks can theses live again. Like the good prophet, Ezekial says, “Lord, it is in your hands.” But he must have felt funny in this vision of doing the ridiculous. How can dead bones come to life again? It would seem from the outset this is a futile and fruitless thing to do.As often as God asks people to do impossible things, Ezekial obeys the Word of the Lord, and there is life somewhere. They come together and form together until they stand up and live. A living, breathing organism (really an army) comes to live out of something dead. This pictured Judah (13-14) and their life again as an organized nation. It can picture us, though in impossible situations, we think will never change.Faithfulness is required in impossible situations if we are going to see God work in the world in which we live. Our culture is on the slip-and-slide downhill with ridiculous ways of practicing sin. It would be easy to pack up, quit, and prepare for the Lord's return. But God says, “I’m not through with everything yet.” We are to keep sharing the greatest message ever. God will work and bring to life that which was dead for His honor and glory. Don’t try to figure out God; you will fry your brain. Just do what God asks you to do and leave the results to Him. Some utterly impossible things can happen if He is in it. I mean, we are talking about the creator of the world here. Just do what He asks you to do.--- Dan Nelson
