Watched The Woman King tonight. Excellent film. For the most part totally unknown, at least to me, actresses and actors, but they were certainly pros. Totally burned out on Marvel and the other popular brand…I forget the name, and sick of the woke garbage they stealthily insert, instead of leaving the superheroes as wholesome as they were in the beginning. This film had none of that. Totally wholesome and virtue driven storyline which puts forth a heroic view of Africans during the European and American slave trade era. It does not neglect the ugliness of the African part in selling their own continental peoples to the traders. Though I believe it is fiction, similar scenarios most probably occurred during that time. In my opinion, there are so many folks in the West who think poverty and slavery when they think Africa and they do not realize the rich and noble history that continent has. I only became aware of it through a chance visit to SCCC where I saw an exhibition of the basically unknown and untaught factual history of the old African kingdoms and queendoms for that matter. This film puts out that message in a very realistic manner. It is a violent film, and unfortunately it has to be, given the period in time where the story is set. Definitely a film to see.
