God's Government is the GreatestIsa. 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called: Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah's message is one of hope amid troubled times. The promise was there would be a coming day when world powers would be obsolete amid God's government centered around Christ. He is prophesied as a great light to people in darkness. He was self-described as the Light of the World.Certainly, the first time Jesus came, He did not rule the world. But he set up a heavenly kingdom so those who come into it will be part of His glorious kingdom in complete domination at His return to earth. It will be a kingdom of peace and righteousness.The Kingdom will be wrapped up in who Christ is. The Everlasting Father means He will reveal the Heavenly Father and reign with His authority. All earthly powers will be subdued, and Jesus will reign in complete perfection. Our hope is not in earthly governments but in who God is and the government He will establish thru Christ.Our government needs to align with the government he will set up. We are moving further away from it. But it is our only hope of survival for the next generation. Truly Blessed is the Nation whose God is Lord, for when it is re-established by Christ, we will welcome Him to do what we have and will never be able to do.--- Dan Nelson
