Joshua 2: 9 "And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you." The statement Rahab the harlot made to the spies when she hid them, and they were about to go back to the Israelites before the battle with details of the city of Jericho. Now, wait a minute; something is wrong with this picture. Unbelief and fear had driven the Israelites back into the desert to die there (except for Caleb and Joshua’s families) at Kadesh-Barnea. But this is a startling revelation. The Canaanites (even the people of Jericho, behind strong walls) were scared of them, while the Israelites were scared of the Canaanites. The Canaanites, more accurately, were scared of what God had done through Israel God had done defeating the most powerful people in the world."God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, wisdom and of a sound mind" II Tim. 1:7. If you live in constant fear, it came from the master manipulator: Satan, whose demons tremble at the name of Christ. So why are we scared? Why were the Israelites scared? Much of what we fear never happens. Fear caused the Israelites to die when their enemies were more afraid of them. What are you scared of? Are you intimidated by the world, the flesh, and the devil to believe FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL? Why are you doing that? It was a tragic mistake of the Israelites when their enemies were scared of them. They went in and conquered Jericho fully through the Lord’s power. We serve the God of the universe. Let’s start acting like it. He can do anything through us He wants and leaves His enemies shaking in their boots. What are you falsely afraid of? The correct answer ought to be nothing!--- Dan Nelson
