John 4:2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples)In our text we find that the Lord Jesus Christ delegated the task of baptizing to His disciples. He never baptized personally. This should not be surprising, because much of what the Lord did on earth He did through others. Much of what the Lord does TODAY on earth He does through others. However, there are some things that the scripture says the Lord did HIMSELF. I want to think along those lines today, with our subject being THE LORD HIMSELF. Let me first say that:THE LORD HIMSELF ARRIVED ON SCHEDULE (Gal. 4:4; Jn. 1:1; Mt. 1:23)!John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth. The Lord HIMSELF considered our state, cared for our wretched souls, and came into this world for our salvation (1 Tim. 1:15).Second, THE LORD HIMSELF ADAPTED TO OUR SHAPE (Heb. 2:14; Phil. 2:5-8).This was the exhibition of heaven, God manifest in the flesh; the experience of humanity; and an example of humility!Third, THE LORD HIMSELF ACCOMPLISHED OUR SALVATION. Notice the wording of:Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;Yes, the Lord Himself became our substitute, as He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, and as He Himself bled for our salvation.Next, THE LORD HIMSELF AROSE FROM THE SEPULCHRE (Lk. 24:36-39). He said after He appeared to the disciples in His resurrected body, "... it is I myself"! The sepulchre could not stop Him; the stone could not stop Him; the seal could not stop Him; the soldiers could not stop Him; the scoffers could not stop Him; and Satan could not stop Him! On the third day, up from the grave He AROSE!Finally, THE LORD HIMSELF APPROACHES IN THE SKY! 1 Thess. 4:16 says that "... the Lord HIMSELF shall descend from heaven ..."! Yes, He will return personally, rescue us personally; and receive us personally!Have you trusted the sacrificially work of the Lord Himself to save your soul? If so, are you serving the Lord Himself? preaching the Lord Himself? looking for the soon return of the Lord Himself?

If you fear your savior, you're his slave. Satan works through fear and intimidation. Not God. There is no "wisdom" in doing the bidding of a slave owner. You should love God, as he loves you. "Fear NOT, for I am the lord thy God"
