1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye "know" that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:THOUGHT: Did you know? The Apostle Peter would be shocked to see how many do not KNOW how to be "redeemed"?Some are trying to purchase their way into heaven with gold or silver, Others are trying by religious traditions. Some are trying to WORK their way to heaven.All must realize that without the precious blood of Christ - our Lamb - you cannot enter into heaven.His work at Calvary is and will always be sufficient. No amount of GOOD WORKS on our part can ever help with salvation. The apostle Paul is clear --Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the gift of God:Ephesians 2:9 NOT of works, lest any man should boast.Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus UNTO good works, which God hath before ordained that we should WALK in them.TRUTH: Salvation is a gift, you can't earn it or buy it. IT is NOT of works.After you receive his salvation, you are HIS WORKMANSHIP created unto good works. The Good works come AFTER you are saved and never BEFORE salvation.Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven, since HE paid for our sins. Salvation is not and never has been a formula of one part Jesus, one part works, one part church, and then last of all, one part personal faith.
