We are as close to God as we want to be.
Ezekial 1:3 " The Word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him.
In a world that has gotten more sinful in a quick pace many Christians say, “I don’t feel close to God anymore. "The pandemic and loneliness that occurred by shutting down churches illegally and restriction on religious liberty (if not outright war) have caused many to say they don’t feel close to God anymore.
I grew up in a church and community where people were saved in our church constantly, and the environment was moral. Our church was a home away from home. There was deep Christian fellowship. Yet, in the majority of places, this is different today. People say, “I don't feel as close to God anymore with all the surrounding immorality and hostility.
Yet, we cannot blame our circumstances if we feel God isn’t close to us. If you think that way: Guess who moved? Ezekial saw visions and saw God’s glory in the worst of situations for Judah. They were captives to a pagan nation, and most would never see their homeland again. It says the hand of the Lord was upon him.”
The glory of the Lord appears to Ezekial, and God speaks to Him in the worst of situations. God uses Him as His mouthpiece and watchman.
The contrast is stark today between good and evil. God’s light will shine the brightest in the darkest hours if we let it. We must renew ourselves to Godly living, deep devotion through being in God’s word, our needful witness by our life in and through sharing the gospel. God is not sleeping. He is active and will use us to our greatest extent if we see how needful our witness is and how God wants to use us in a dark and pagan land like He did Ezekial.
