"Then Job answered the LORD, and said, I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee." (Job 42:1-2)I've always enjoyed reading and studying the Book of Job. There are many great Truths found within that I haven't even happened upon yet in my years as a Christian.So. what can we learn from the book of Job and then apply those lessons to our life? Here's just a few for your consideration.First, and this goes without saying, we must trust and honor God whether we receive blessings or even when adversity comes and pays us a visit. When adversity befalls us, we should prayerfully look within ourselves to see what wrong or some sin we have committed. If we know of a trespass, we should confess it to God and do whatever is necessary to make things right both before man and God. If we have done nothing wrong, then we should let God be our anchor and know that He is always righteous in His dealings.Next, we should never become angry at God, but rather seek Him for strength and security. We must not question Him but know that God has infinite wisdom and power. He has created all things on Earth and all living beings. He is in full control of all that He has created.Third, we must remember His greatness, His grace, and His goodness to us and just go ahead and trust Him to get us through any adversity. His wisdom and timing will be almighty and appropriate. Remember folks, God has been around a long time, and nothing is new to Him. He's never surprised or stumped when a situation arises. Therefore, there isn't anything He can't handle for you and me.Finally, we should not instantly assume guilt or heap condemnation upon a friend during their trials like Job's three so-called buddies did. We should attempt to comfort them all the while remembering that God sees and knows all and will heal the righteous. Though a righteous friend may suffer now, we should listen to them reverently, respectively, and reply wisely as they pour their broken heart out to us. Yes, at times the righteous do indeed suffer for some reason. Ah, but God also allows things to happen to us for our betterment and to build us up to be more like Jesus.Friends, many times, God will deal comfort to those in need all by Himself or He may even direct us to do this much needed work in His name and for His glory.
