I'm just now getting back to TNR-ing cats since my knee replacement in May. It's still very hard for me to do it, but I'm working on it. Monday I left 2 traps set/baited at a home and explained to the woman there how to refresh bait/set them daily. The traps are in her garage and it's the perfect set up to leave traps for an extended period. Fast forward to today, she calls me and says she caught the big orange male. I got there to pick it up...she had it in a huge carrier. This cat weighs about 15 pounds, just no way for me to get him out and into a trap, and he is 100% feral. Buck wild. When asked why she had him in the carrier she said " he's so big he wouldn't go in the trap because I think he won't fit in the trap, so I put his food in the carrier. lol He will be cat #5 for the week, but dang. Last year at this time I had TNR'd over 1,000 cats. I'm sitting at 83 cats for 2020. This whole year with the knee replacement from Hell and COVID has just made things so bizarre. I can't wait for 2021.
