The Futility of making our flesh acceptable to GodGal. 2:16 "knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified." We can't do anything ourselves to be saved. No one can produce enough works to earn them the right to go to heaven. God acknowledges saving faith in His Son's payment for our sins. That and only that can make us able to go to heaven and be saved from our sin and its payment.Christianity works on the inside of people to change their hearts. It should be evident to all that we are saved and that God is working in our lives, but initial faith comes from the inside and it is our response to what God has already done in saving us through Christ's sacrifice. Paul stated how the scripture states this.We cannot add to saving faith. If we add to it then we destroy the finished product. Yet, the history of religion is what someone does in the flesh to religiously, morally, and ceremonially gain God's acceptance. Many are stranded today without a personal relationship with Christ because they have been erroneously told they must do something to be saved when you cannot clean up the flesh and make it acceptable enough to God to be saved. A heart change needs to come for God to make us right with Him and acceptable in His sight. To miss this great truth is to make the greatest mistake of our lives. Let God justify you instead of you trying to do it in the flesh.--- from Pastor Dan Nelson
