How are we Born of God?John 1:13“Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” After talking about receiving Christ and having His power, John shares how you are not made a child of God, although some use these as a mistake of how a person becomes a Christian. There are three notes:1-Not of blood: There is no inherited salvation. The halfway covenant was proven a farce by Jonathan Edwards in the First Great Awakening. Infant baptism will not save you. Being in a Christian family does not automatically put you in the family of God.2-Not of the will of the flesh: Outward ritual and appearance of being a Christian will not save you. You are not saved because you are in a certain religious body. People have told me they were Catholic, so they were Christian. No denominational label will land you into heaven automatically. Your heart has to be changed, and God has to do it thru the new birth.3-Not of the will of man: You are not saved by good works and willing yourself saved because you have done good works. Jesus came to die in our place through His sinless life so that our sinful life can be covered thru His righteousness. To parade our self-righteousness before God and ask Him to accept that we will always fall short of being made a child of God.Trust in Christ as Saviour and do it in God’s way, or you will never be saved. You must know how to receive Christ as Saviour truly and that you have done it.
