"Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?" (Jeremiah 23:29)What is needed for the cold spirit and the hard heart? A consuming fire and a hard-hitting hammer. And that is exactly what God says that His Word is. When it is preached and taught or studied and sung; it is nothing less than the Power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.Recognizing this powerful Holy Spirit Inspired Dynamite that's found in the pages of God’s Word, how often then do we take full advantage of this spiritual weapon? Do we call upon it before every battle? Do we ignite our hearts with it daily? Do we read it to our children? Do we employ it as our witness to those we meet?God's Word, if you will, can be likened unto a Toolbox, yet it's not like a Mechanic's or Carpenter's toolbox that often remains stationary or a smaller one that can be carried in the hand. The words in God's Toolbox are to be hidden in our heart and it will be a lamp to lighten and lead us. The Lord's Toolbox has tools in it that have been designed to fix any problem we have or help fix a problem for someone else.God's Toolbox has never, nor will it ever need to be updated nor replaced, for it never changes. It has stood the test of time and it will endure forever. Every tool needed for life is in that Toolbox. Nothing is never to be added nor subtracted from it. Many people use those tools found within every day and find courage and comfort, peace and power from God, faith and forgiveness. it deals with our past and our present, our sin and our salvation, our earthly life and eternal life, promises for spiritual plenty, and our joy in Heaven and another's judgment in Hell. I could sit here and type for years on end this morning and would never be able to even touch the hem of the garment and list every lesson for your life and mine found in God's Word. Friends, God's Word is our toolbox, and it has the answers to life’s problems. It is our artillery when we are under attack, and our armor against Satan’s temptations. May the Sword of the Spirit always be our only weapon while we're waging war against wickedness.
