For me this Day has two meanings. Part of my growing up was in Canada where it is Remembrance Day. At the 11th hour of the 11th Day 54 years ago I watched the Prime Minister and the Governor General lay a wreath at The Cenotaph in Ottawa. Almost the entire country came to a stop for a moment. That image has never left me and it will remain with me until the end of my days. It was also the day 31 years ago that my Dad left this earth. He was a veteran of Korea and was in Vietnam before the United States was "in" Vietnam when I was very little. Whether you still call this day Armistice Day, Remembrance Day or Veteran's Day pause and remember. To all of my old Shipmates who are still with us and those now gone I will raise a toast this evening. Please keep in mind the beginning of this Day.
