The first air strikes against Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom occurred #OTD in 2001. Among the airplanes that participated was F-14D Tomcat (Bureau Number 161159), pictured here launching from USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) while serving in VF-213 at the time. The airplane is now displayed in the museum's Hangar Bay One.
