God is so great that if His anger were against you … well, you might be turned to nothing. We still need correction though, so the writer of this Psalm prayed that God would correct him, but not in His anger. Thankfully God is also gracious and loving. We should certainly be willing and ready to be corrected by the Lord.

I confess. I am always in need of correction. I thank God for His patience and grace, for if it were not for His understanding of our mortal shortcomings, we would ALL be reduced to a pile of ash.
It needs to be understood, that God does not need US, but we need HIM.
