Question...
Why, when David confessed his sin to the Lord and Nathan said
The Lord also hath put away thy sin...2 nd Samuel 12:13
Meaning it was forgiven, why did David NOT feel forgiven?
David said after he was forgiven by God...
Blot out my transgressions...Psalm 51:1
Blot out all my iniquities...Psalm 51:9
Answer...
David in his human body FELT his sin was not forgiven..
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation...Psalm 51:11
David knew his sin was forgiven, but it didn’t feel like it...
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin....Psalm 32:5
Our fallen human bodies cannot understand the feeling one gets when they are forgiven by God, it must be taken by faith in His WORD that it happens.
The Christian whose sins are forgiven is a person not governed by feelings but by the truth he knows. He does not rely on his feelings to prove anything to him. Relying on feelings is EXACTLY the error most people make in life. They are so introspective that they become preoccupied with themselves, constantly analyzing their own feelings. They will continually question their relationship with God. Do I really love God?,Does He really love me?, AM I REALLY FORGIVEN?..
Bottom line...Rely on Holy Scripture for your answers, not the feelings from your fallen body.
